!Ay, mis hijos!…yes, this was always on my mind after watching “The Curse of La Llorona”. As I walk towards the press junket around the warner brothers lot, I had the sensation that “La Llorona” was going to come out from somewhere. Well, let me explain, first of all we had to wear comfortable shoes and second of all, it took place at a creepy house around the woods, where loudspeakers played the sound of a creaky door on a loop…whispering…!Ay, Mis Hijos! so, yes! this was not a normal press junket. There were more loudspeakers in the trees that played some of the scariest scenes from the film – screams and all. Oh, and a hologram of La Llorona herself was lit in the middle of the river behind the studio setup.

My interview with the film’s stars which took place at night time took place inside the creepy house. I had around 10 min to chat with each and one of them: Linda Cardellini, Patricia Velásquez, Raymond Cruz, and Michael Chaves (The Director). So here it is, hit PLAY and witness their very frightening stories, because each and one of them had creepy experiences while filming the movie..!Ay, mis hijos!…!Ay, mis hijos!…!Ay, mis hijos!

According to legend, La Llorona or “The Weeping Woman,” drowned her children in a river after finding her husband cheating on her. She then drowned herself. In the film, she comes back to haunt the children of both Cardellini and Velásquez’s characters. If you where haunted by “La Llorona” as a child or if you simply love horror movies, you can’t miss “La Curse of La Llorona”, in theaters April 19th, 2019.

The film is produced by James Wan (“The Conjuring” universe), Gary Dauberman (“IT” and “Annabelle” franchises) and Emile Gladstone. Michael Chaves, who won Shriekfest’s Best Super Short Film in 2016 for “The Maiden,” makes his feature directorial debut. The film stars Linda Cardellini (Netflix’s “Bloodline,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron,”); Raymond Cruz (TV’s “Major Crimes”); and Patricia Velasquez (TV’s “The L Word,” “The Mummy” films). The cast also includes Marisol Ramirez (TV’s “NCIS: Los Angeles”); Sean Patrick Thomas (the “Barbershop” films, “Halloween: Resurrection”), Jaynee-Lynne Kinchen (“Selfless”) and newcomer Roman Christou.
